In the general elections held on March 12, 2025, the People’s United Party (PUP) secured a decisive victory in Belize, winning 26 out of 31 seats in the House of Representatives. The opposition United Democratic Party (UDP) won the remaining five seats. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prime Minister Johnny Brice\u00f1o, leader of the PUP, was re-elected for a second term. International leaders, including Taiwan’s government, congratulated Brice\u00f1o and the PUP on their electoral success. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Voter turnout was reported at 50.64%, with 99,766 of the 197,018 registered voters participating in the election. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
